Welcome to the Franklin Opera House! We are beginning our new season and want to keep you updated on all the happenings at our beloved Opera House. We have a number of wonderful shows this next three months so here we go!……. On Friday, August 15th we had Walt Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book” performed by the Franklin Area Children’s Theatre (FACT). What a turnout!! Both shows at 1:00 & 7:00 were sold-out! This performance was underwritten in part by Casey Family Services, Dave & Sue Sinclair and the Franklin Recreation Department. “Hello Dolly!” a production of the Franklin Footlight Theatre will be performed August 21,22,23 at 7:30; 24th at 2:00 and the 28,29,30 at 7:30 and 31st at 2:00. Come and enjoy the irresistible story of the joy of living, glittering with happy songs and alive with the personality of Dolly Gallagher Levi! Show sponsors are Franklin Savings Bank and Grevior Furniture. “National Velvet” starring Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney will be playing for our Classic Movie Night Series on Saturday, September 6th at 7:00 p.m. Come and join us! Donations are appreciated. LuckyBob Prop/Comic/Magic & Juggling will be here on Saturday, September 13th at 7:00 p.m. This should be a sheer joy to watch and possibly participate in a performance by the 1990 Close-Up Magician of the Year! Proceeds to benefit the Franklin Opera House. Underwritten in part by Whole Child Center. Tickets are $10 & $7 Moulton Band the oldest continuous community band in New Hampshire will be performing on our stage Wednesday, September 17th at 7:00 p.m. This ‘hidden treasure’ is free to the public. Pesso-Boyden System Psychomotor Seminar will be presenting two movies of world-renowned, master therapist Albert Pesso on Friday, September 19th at 7:30 p.m. Al Pesso will be on hand for discussion and questions afterwards. All proceeds to benefit the Franklin Opera House. Tickets are $20. Call the office for Franklin resident discount. Comedian Bob Marley will once again find his way to our stage for two exciting shows this year. Come and join us for some belly laughs on Saturday, September 20th at 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. All Tickets are $20. This performance is underwritten in part by Masse Electrical Contractors. On September 27th at 7:00 p.m. will be a “Youth Benefit Concert” featuring Lakes Region students ages 3 to 18. Help support our youth in steering their education in the performing arts. All tickets are $5 It’s that time of year again for our “Annual Wine Tasting Extravaganza” on Thursday, October 9th from 6:30 – 9:30 at Mojolaki Golf Club. If you’ve every wished you could select wines with confidence……knowing which wine to order with certain dishes, and which wines to avoid…..come and check it out! All tickets $22 “New Wave Nation – An 80’s Tribute Band” – Come and join us to celebrate the music of the 80’s in a whole new light! Every song will have their unique sound attached.
