Contact the Executive Director at 934-1901 and we can discuss
meaningful ways that your business can support the opera
house.
The money we make from selling tickets to shows does not
even cover the cost of the shows themselves. We depend on
our members contributions to pay for insurance, payroll and
all of the other operational costs involved in supporting a
performing arts center. Complimentary tickets are given at
every membership level.

Franklin Opera House is a nickname for Franklin City Hall.
Shortly after the new town hall was built with the theater
included in it, it became known to the locals as “the opera
house.” Franklin City Hall is located at 316 Central Street
in downtown Franklin, right next to the library.
The balcony was reopened in the summer of 2005. We are
using the original chairs which most people find quite
comfortable. The designers of the late 19th
century apparently knew something about ergonomics! Due fire
code limitations only about 175 seats are available at the
time being.
The floors in the balcony were refinished courtesy of Audet
Floor Sanding in Belmont, NH. If you see Chris, tell him
thanks!
Many people who have heard about the project refer to “the
newly renovated Franklin Opera House.” While it is true that
a major transformation has taken place, we are far from
finished. Our staff and the city Land and Buildings
Department are working together to develop a plan for the
future of the building. Some of the major considerations
will be heating, air conditioning, major electrical
upgrades, sprinkler and fire protection and many others.
Good question! I guess you call the Executive Director at 934-1901.
